Grants and funds: five deadlines closing between 30 September and 30 November, mainland and Azores — Note, 18 September 2026

In brief: Five calls are open with deadlines running to the end of November, across agriculture, fisheries and the local economic base, on the mainland and in the Autonomous Region of the Azores. The nearest closes on 30 September; the furthest on 30 November. Two of them require technical documentation that cannot be assembled in the final week. Here is the calendar with each notice number and the instrument behind it.

30 September: local economic base in the Azores

The first phase of the “Building 2030 — Local Economic Base” notice (ACORES2030-2026-21), with ten million euros for Azorean small and medium enterprises in retail, catering and services, closes on 30 September 2026 at 5 p.m. Azores time. There are further phases on 30 October and 30 November, so missing the first does not exclude an application, although the allocation is consumed in order of decision.

7 October: fire blight in pear orchards

The second call for support in preventing fire blight, a disease caused by the bacterium Erwinia amylovora, has an allocation of 3.5 million euros and finances only sanitary pruning of pear trees, paid on unit costs. Support is a non-repayable grant of 100% of eligible expenditure up to 10,000 euros and 50% on the portion exceeding that figure, with a limit of 400,000 euros and one application per beneficiary. It runs from 5 p.m. on 16 September to 5 p.m. on 7 October. Note the implementation timetable, which is tight: the first pass must occur by 15 October 2026 and the second by 31 January 2027. Notice AG PEPACC/Aviso 02/C.4.1.2/2026; Order 214/2026/1 of 11 May, as amended by Order 426/2026/1 of 8 September; eligible area fixed by Order 118/G/2026 of 28 August.

12 and 27 October: fisheries and burnt farms

Support for increased costs in fisheries and aquaculture, with 12.6 million euros, runs from 11 September to 12 October 2026 (notice MAR2030-2026-25). The sixth call for the restoration of productive potential, aimed at farms hit by rural fires, with ten million euros, runs until 27 October 2026 at 5 p.m.

29 October: swordfish tie-up

Compensation for the temporary cessation of swordfish fishing covers vessel owners and crews on the mainland and in the Azores, with 1.26 million euros of fund money. It covers a tie-up of sixty consecutive days and splits into compensation to the owner, calculated on 2025 sales volume, and wage compensation to the fisherman. It closes on 29 October 2026 at 6 p.m., but the notice requires the application to be submitted before the end of the tie-up period, which in practice brings the deadline forward case by case. Notice MAR2030-2026-22.

30 November: irrigation schemes damaged by the storms

The fourth call of intervention D.3.2 allocates 25 million euros to the rehabilitation of agricultural hydraulic infrastructure in schemes whose condition deteriorated with the weather events of January and February 2026. Eligible applicants are public administration bodies, beneficiary associations and public business sector entities, with eligible investment up to three million euros per application and one application per scheme. It runs until 30 November 2026 at 5 p.m. Notice AG PEPACC/Aviso 04/D.3.2/2026.

What to do in practice

Two of these notices carry a documentary requirement that governs everything else. The irrigation one requires a completed execution project already sent to the rural development directorate, a specific action plan and an ex ante assessment sheet of potential water savings. The swordfish one requires the application to be filed before the end of the tie-up, and not merely before the end of the period. In both cases, anyone starting to prepare in the final week will not make it. For the others, the immediate step is to confirm eligibility as a beneficiary before investing time in the application — notably, in the fire blight case, checking whether the holding lies in one of the parishes listed in the annex to the order.
